Senior Citizens of Rowlett

Founded in 2010, SCOR was established with the goal of providing exceptional senior citizen services to the local community. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our services to meet the evolving needs of our community. 

We support Rowlett citizens over the age of 55 who are on a low income by assisting with expenses that can affect every day living. 

The administration and management of SCOR is provided exclusively by volunteers. 

We are a 5o1(c)3 nonprofit organization. 

• Our Seniors Helping Seniors program provides financial assistance to qualified seniors for their utilities, rent, medical care, prescriptions, auto repair, home repairs and other expenses for everyday living. 

• We provide Senior Health Seminars the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Rowlett Community Centre. Each Seminar is a presentation on senior health concerns, whether medical challenges or mental health; and a healthy lunch is provided afterwards. 

• We have provided financial support to local food banks and services, such as Visiting Nurses Association for Meals on Wheels, First Christian Church’s Hope In Hand, and Veterans Resource & Outreach Center. 

• During the Christmas Holidays, we provide presents for residents without family residing in local nursing homes. 

• We have provided financial support for the Pancake Breakfast at the RCC which includes a presentation on the operations of the City.
